CARHOF/NAR Donates $60,000 to Fourmile Fire

September 10, 2010

The Colorado Association of Realtors Housing Opportunity Fund (CARHOF) and The National Association of Realtors have teamed up to donate $60,000 to the victims of Colorado’s most devastating fire ever. The fund go directly to Elevations Credit Union Foundation, an affiliate of Boulder Area Realtor Association, which has pledged to match donations up to $10,000. So that is $70,000 in much needed funds. The funds will be used as needed for temporary and long term shelter as needed. This fire displaced over 3,000 people and destroyed 169 personal residences, including 9 homes of volunteer firefighters, a true tragedy.
CARHOF collects its funds from interest on earnest money in escrow accounts which goes into a fund designated for statewide projects and disaster relief.
